Xeno generates most of its visual content at runtime. It does not only create planets, stars and nebulae; it will also be able to procedurally generate animated and visually pleasing spaceship sprites. Here are some examples:
The technique has been optimized for smaller sprites. Some boss enemies may have larger sprites, like this one:
The required rule files, textures and the generator code are less than 250 KB in size combined, yet they create gigabytes of sprite data.
A couple new screenshots of Xeno have been posted on our Facebook page.
They’re 640×480 pixels, but we have plans to allow the game to be played at resolutions of up to 1920×1080 pixels.
Due to the inherent slowness of Flash software rendering you’ll need a rather powerful machine to run it at a decent framerate at this size and with full details.
We have donated a small game two games to Reddit to help them increase their ad revenue.
Game 1: Reddit Samegame
Game 2: Upvote!
Update: links to games are outdated; Reddit does not allow hotlinking to Ad-games anymore. Click here for updated links.
Dear visitors from Reddit, we hope you enjoy the games! Please check out our other games too!
If you enjoy our free games and you’re on Facebook, it’d be great if you would become a fan and help our fan counter to be slightly less embarrassing.
Thanks!
We’re still alive and busy working on new game projects and ideas.
Here are a couple of screenshots showing the development of an upcoming Flash game (Project title “Xeno”). It features a very large procedurally generated universe and procedurally generated spacecraft.

Screenshots #1 and #2 are taken from a very early prototype of our procedural planet generator.
A procedural solar system.
A collage of procedurally generated planets. In this stage of development, the planet generator has been optimized to create many variations of small planet-like objects.
Further development of the game’s concept and more advanced generator code yields big, colorful and diversified planets in a nice space-themed atmosphere. This is the current state of development.
Our latest game Phytrix has been released. It’s a Match-3 puzzle game with physics.
We are pleased to launch this website announcing our first browser game “Socol” is up and available to play for free.
It is a quite unique mix of sound and simple, intuitive gameplay, and foremost a really chilling experience, perfect to relax a little and calm down from a stressful day.
Just jump over to the games section and take a look for yourself.
Of course we do not plan to stop at this point. Two other games are already in the works, one of them should be ready for release soon.
Stop by shortly for new announcements.
For now we hope you enjoy playing Socol!
